First Date

The boy drove up the driveway in his maroon Malibu and turned off the ignition. Am I really finally about to do this? He nervously mused as he walked to the door. The girl saw his headlights through the window and purposely went to her bedroom. A few moments later she heard the boy ring the doorbell and her mother open the door and call her name. Here we go! She thought excitedly. As the girl walked into the room the boy sheepishly said hello and asked if she was ready to leave, all the while thinking Man she looks great! She said she was ready and followed him out to the car with a smile. He impressed her by opening the car door for her and in moments they were on their way to their first date. He had decided to ask her to go bowling and she happily accepted the invitation. The girl loved bowling and she beat the boy two games in a row. Whether this was because the boy let her or he was a horrible bowler she did not know. The whole evening was one filled with butterflies and nervous giggling and flirting and both boy and girl and a great time. After they got tired of bowling, the boy decided to move in to stage two of his plan. He asked her to get ice cream. Of course no girl can pass up ice cream so she whole-heartedly agreed. He ordered the blue cotton candy and she ordered banana pecan. His cotton candy was blue and she teased him about how disgusting it looked and he teased her in return by stealing her phone and changing one of her contact’s names to Banana. After each had finished eating their ice cream cone, he leaned into the back seat and pulled out a teddy bear and a Fairly Odd Parents movie and gave them to the girl. (The movie was actually for her dad who loved to watch the Fairly Odd Parents in his free time) But the teddy bear was for her. He is trying to suck up to my parents! He must really like me she thought amusedly. He then turned to her and she looked in his striking blue eyes and he asked her a question. ”Will you be my girlfriend?” The girl paused and smiled, and said “Yes.” Finally! they each thought in unison.
